Project FH: February 2009

March 6th, 2009 5 comments

Sorry for the delay on posting this, but I’ve been busy. In any case, here are the photos from my Project: FH for February 2009. I basically took my signature look, the trimmed full-facial hair, and took out the jaw & neck hair for a more professional look. I’ve just completed the March look but I need Laura to take some pictures of it still.

This ended up turning into a full-on photo shoot, one that was a lot of fun to do and mostly inspired by the Shewchuk shoot that John Hawkins did. Have fun! Oh, and on a side note, please excuse any blurry photos. Some of the earlier ones are, but we eventually setup a tripod for the remainder.

Apparently, I'm deep in thought about what to do in the upcoming photo shoot...

Actually, this is a pretty good photo of me. Even with the Dueling Dragons.

I'd say something about being denied something by Laura here, but she'd get upset at me. ;)

‘StacheX got me thinking about how often I change my facial hair… Not very. I used to try to change my hairstyle pretty often, and usually to sub-par results. Now I just keep it the same style because it works well.

But I almost never change my facial hair. Besides the mustache, I’ve only done something to my facial hair twice (besides trimming the length down like I always do).

But now, once a month, I’ll start sporting a brand-new facial hair style that I’ve never had before. Some outlandish, some subtle. I figure I’ll try to give the styles at least a couple days, since if I continually try to keep clean-shaven, I break out.

So the mustache was the first one. The next one is coming your way on February 1st/2nd!

‘StacheX

January 13th, 2009 3 comments

In my department here at work, DataX, the development team decided to go down to just mustaches through at least the rest of the week… The results have been pretty funny.

I’ve never had just a mustache before, and it’s definitely an interesting look for me. Last night, when Laura saw me, she said I looked like I came from the 70s and also looked like my Dad. I’m not really sure how I looked like my Dad because he’s never had just a mustache himsef… But who knows. I do look remarkably older with just a mustache.

When I surveyed the results of the shave last night in the mirror, western music popped into my head and I saw myself wearing a duster and a badge in the Old West… rofl.

When I got to work, one of my coworkers here said I looked like I came from the 80s. Jordan, one of the participants in ‘StacheX, called me Magnum P.I.

Laura has pictures of me on her blog, because she’s doing the 365-Day Project and wanted to use my ‘stache pictures for yesterday. So head on over there and check them out… Well, actually, it’s just one, but she may post more in the future.

One side note: I’m trying to incorporate more links into my posts, be they relevant or just kinda quirky given the subject, or not really related at all, perhaps even slightly disturbing. I had to change the link color in posts because the old one didn’t stand out enough.

Oh, I just noticed that her blog post said I look like Chuck Norris. Given that Chuck Norris can sneeze with his eyes open, I think the comparison is actually a compliment.
